[It's bright and early in the morning when Vanellope can be seen in the playground outside the school. First period is Writing and there's homework and she forgot, so she's trying to finish hers before the school bell rings. Clearly this means it's okay to be scribbling it down in the journal - she doesn't have any thing else with her, and she can always tear the page out later on!]



[... Yeah. Anyway, feel free to run into her in the school yard or even respond via voice/written! Just remember, she's gotta make it to first period, so you might not even get replies til lunch or something. ]

Dunno! But there was a whole lotta kissing happening last month, so maybe we'll get some new babies soon! [Nine year old logic, go.]

Actually, babies don't just form when people kiss. [ kotomi, no.. ] It takes more than that.

[sugarglitch]

I know that. You need a boy and a girl to kiss if you want a baby to happen. [she squints.] Well, something like that, anyway.

[ .. now she's actually getting a little unsure about it.. ]

.. Wait.. people really get a baby if they only just kiss..? When a boy and a girl do that..?

Yup.

Oh, but you gotta wait a while before the baby gets there... [And here Vanellope trails off a little. Huh, how does the baby get there?]

[ Well, Kotomi knows that part. Actually, she knows everything, but she's so easily swayed by what other people say. ]

Y.. yes, it takes nine months, but.. t-that still means people can get pregnant so easily..

Nine months! [Woah. That one's new.] That's really long, why does it take forever?

[ Oh! Now this is something she can explain. ]

It's since it takes a long time for a baby to grow before it's born. After all, we people only grow slowly too, right..?

[sugarglitch]

Oh... [Vanellope starts nodding in dawning understanding. Well, something like it, anyway.] I guess that makes sense. Cool.

You know, you're like ten times more helpful than anyone else who's tried to help me with this!

.. Woah.. really? [ it's like she can't even believe it herself, honestly. ] I didn't know I was helpful. I was just telling you what I know, that's all..

[sugarglitch]

Yeah really! Most everyone else just says somethin's wrong and won't tell me what's right. [She rolls her eyes.] Grown ups can be so lame.

It's since grown ups don't always know everything either. It isn't until you read a lot that you get to know a lot of things. [ like Kotomi here. ]

If they don't know everythin' they should stop actin' like they do!

Ah, I've read that it has something to do with preserving a certain image. Grownups want to seem reliable and smart, so that's why they sometimes pretend to be smarter than they are. It's almost a little sad, shouldn't you just be yourself..?
